WWW Wednesday

WWW Wednesday is a weekly post hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. To participate, just post the answers to the following three questions:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?
The Gospel of Loki by Joanne M. Harris. It’s a fun and pretty silly retelling of Norse mythology from the point of view of Loki, teenager, child of Chaos, and extreme troublemaker. If you’re familiar with Norse myths, you’ll probably like this a lot! It’s goofy in a fun way. At about 50% through, I think I can confidently say that it’s not my favorite Norse retelling, an honor that still goes to Gaiman’s Norse Mythology, but I am enjoying it none-the-less.

What did you recently finish reading?
Vicious by V.E. Schwab. God, that woman can write. I love her characters so, so much, and I love the world and the writing and the story, and I am already thinking heavily about breaking my no-buy rule right now and picking up Vengeful. My TBR stack is too big for that, though, so it’s just gonna have to wait for a bit. But boy I really did like that book a LOT.

What do you think you’ll read next?
I’d LIKE to say I’ll be good and actually finish Ancillary Sword, but my loan on Ursula K. Le Guin’s No Time to Spare is estimating I’ll get a copy soon, so it might be that! Or it might be The Fifth Season, which I received as a holiday gift and am very curious about. I just read recently about how N.K. Jemisin won the Best Novel Hugo Award for the third consecutive year for a book in that series, and I think that’s a sign I should finally read some of her work.

What about y’all? Reading anything good?
